yeah, exactly why I was led astray... brand new craftsman torque wrench (I own 2, one's in inch pounds to do the valve cover bolts and other things), and I always put em back to the lowest setting before storing. I gotta go in and retorque here anyways as it's been over 500 miles...

shouldn't have made a difference, sounds like you must have knocked a connector loose or left something disconnected (as the 2 units are plug and play, at least in the USA)

personally I'd report the dealership for advertising that they're using toyota/lexus oil filters and putting crappy stuff on... I would think they could have their dealship license revoked and have toyota come down on them pretty hard... that wheel bearing crap would have been my limit...

dampening is resistance to movement, rebound is them extending themselves after being compressed spring does the rebound usually (depends on dampener design), so you're looking for the resistance to movement (the shocks stop the oscillations of the springs after hitting a bump)
