depends on the condition of your existing engine it's hit or miss with JDM engines, it could already be worse off then your existing engine...

aluminum is fine and should have LESS vibration as it naturally dampens it it does eventually harden and can possibley break down the road, but remember than aluminum is twice as strong as steel for the same weight... it's up to you, but they use aluminum on production cars as well...

platinums are fine, they just last longer than coppers (OEM is platinum) I still don't think this will sholve all your issues, maybe if you have air in the system and it was causing the issues (which is possible), but I'd still do a compression test to see...
