Doward: my last clutch wasn't that old... so I left it bad move as it's only lasted 5K miles TOTAL since the idiot shop installed it. rear main hasn't been touched on this motor though.. (I'm going to do a full build eventually..)

ah, dunno on the 2J bottom end, but on the 1J the bolt for the flywheel need sealant... 7M doesn't, but I use loctite anyway... I can drop a tranny in a day now, tranny jack FTW

might just be oil buildup in the turbo... mine does it too, but mostly it's supposed to be smooth. A rebuild couldn't hurt though...

if it's a simple LED, it should drain too much power. Personally, I'd disconnect it (don't need flashy stuff) You can attach it to the body of the alternator somehow, or very easily to the bracket it's on... That stud is positive though...

alt fuse blown = no crank... You said you went to the alternator ground... that's a positive, not a ground. If you short the battery by way of the alt wires, the fuse blows... To replace that fuse, pull the little box out around it (it's around the 3 large fuses) and then unbolt it...
