pressure plate takes just as much of a beating as the flywheel...
if you're flywheel isn't toast, get it resurfaced, and get a new clutch (including the PP).

true, but toyota has a good record of overbuilding their cars (we can all be thankfull that we don't snap axle shafts, ect because of this)
so it's good designing on their part. There is another reason to run them, something about the wristpins with aftermarket rods or something, can't find...
gated shifter won't work, hard to explain, but our shifter fulcrum is literally right under the boot. The gate would have to be a few inches above the console (I had this idea too LOL)
funnels the air through the radiator and IC instead of under the car...
stock rocks, water, ect from getting up into the engine bay (it's oftentimes refured to as a "splash guard" to keep water off the belts)
