Ok, here's the deal. On the Supra, the BOV is usually attached after the air flow meter. This means that any time the BOV opens, you are losing unmetered air, and your engine promptly runs very rich. Some people have had problems with it running so rich it stalls, more have had backfire...

I put on basically 2.5 of the washers that go on the headbolts. I used two of those, and epoxied another one that was about half as thick in between them.

Big pair of vice grips will get it off for sure. Future advice - always use a box end wrench to break bolts loose. Anyone who can strip a bolt with a box end is truly a hack. ;) Seriously, get the thing off there, shim it out some, AND get a $25 manual boost controller from Dr. Jonez...

Even with the MBC, I've still shimmed the wastegate. Allows me to run 17psi and hold it all the way to redline. Without the shims, it would peak at 17psi and then slowly fall back to about 12.

I just put my box end wrench on the nut and jack up the other end with my floorjack. Get it nice and tight, then slide out from under the car and bounce on the front bumper. Damn thing cracks loose right quick. :)

It's pretty easy to do, and the only disadvantage is that if your car isn't in prime condition, the extra boost will cause parts to fail all over the place. :)

I'm not entirely sure yet - I brought my camera which normally would take video, but then my stinking good for nothing battery gave up the ghost. :( Not that video of his car on the dyno is very impressive - it looks the same every time, and it's SO loud that video just doesn't do it any...

It was pre-89 for sure. I think it was actually an '87. Our theory was that they removed this as soon as they switched to the round liquid filled mounts with the idea that the new mounts should absorb more of the vibration themselves. Most people seem to toss this part when re-installing...

Is your HKS downpipe one of the evil ones with the huge restriction in it? I'd change that and THEN up the boost. Of course, then you'll be dealing with Fuel Cut issues, but that's a whole new ballgame. :) I haven't had any problems with stock or even mildly modded pony cars for some time.
