Just in case you haven't checked this yet - check the alternator. If it dies, the car will run for a while on the battery, until it drains the battery. Sometimes you can even get it restarted again, but only for a very short time until the battery decides it's had enough.

Don't try it. Each CHRA is balanced differently, and a fraction of a gram turns into a helluva harmonic vibration at 50,000 rpm.
You can't just put the new wheel in the same place as the old one, as it won't be exactly the same as the old wheel, and therefore, you'll get an imbalanced...
