anyone know of a good digital camera?

Actually, one cent starting bid doesn't mean much. Paypal has been great to me, I've heard some horror stories, but considering the number of happy customers, I don't think they are doing badly. Watch out for new sellers without much feedback. Or sellers with some feedback that is all from...

    Concidering clutch installation, need tips

It doesn't really need that much, I just gave it a good coat - enough so that there was a thin film over all the mating surfaces.

    BHG repair...

I've lost a head gasket to oil in the head bolt holes before, on my Celica's 22R. :( Lesson well learned - keep the oil out of the engine until it's all together.

    Concidering clutch installation, need tips

I did the snap rings with a couple flat bladed screwdrivers. :) Your torque wrench should be fine for this. Eveness of the pressure plate prongs? Only if you are planning on re-using your old pressure plate, I think?

Dimensions for making 89+ solid motor mounts

Ok folks, anyone who has access to a lathe / drill press combo can make these for themselves, they are damn simple. The ones I made for my car were 2.75 inches in diameter, with a 0.625 inch hole in the center, and 2.875 inches long. They work very well. I've seen the ones from Maxx, and...

    gasket discussion

I don't use sealant, stick to the stock gaskets with the exception of the oilpan, where I used FIPG as usual. No leaks. Except for a couple spots where the TSRM says to apply a dab... like the point on each side of the front of the cam cover gaskets.

    Clutch slippage

Easy - you can replace both the master and slave plus rebleed the entire thing in 2 hours. The slippage would be due to a worn clutch, IMO. Also, the previous owner could have replaced the master with an aftermarket unit, they seem to die in about a year - unlike the stock Toyota part...

    Michael Jackson NOT guilty?!?!

Obviously he didn't hire Martha Stewart's lawyers. Seriously, IMO this whole thing was just a bloody big publicity stunt funded by the US Justice system.

Hoppin on the good ol' bandwagon

They have to be 1600x1200 or smaller to upload them here. Shouldn't be too hard to deal with. What year is your car? Different years have slightly different wiring.

    Help:car audio

Of those two, the Alpine are better IMO. A silk dome tweeter is much nicer than a hard shell tweeter, the hard shells are so intense it sounds like it'll cut flesh. As for the speakers, go with 4 - two in front, two in the back seats. You can fit a 5.25 inch in the back seats with some...

    I'm stuck at a crossroad

Everyone I know who was in the service tells me that this is the hardest single decision they have ever faced in their lives. The key to most was whether they were going to make a career out of the service or not. If you want a career as a civilian, it's likely time to give it a shot. Keep...

Supra vs Deer: we both lost

Could be a LOT worse. Offtopic - I once nailed a moose at night in my '82 Celica. Or he nailed me, I'm not sure. Full grown bull moose is a BIG FREAKING ANIMAL. I was doing about 65 mph, gave it a good solid hit, spun my car around several times in the road... didn't even knock the SOB...

anyone know of a good digital camera?

Jeff is right on the money, digitial zoom is useless. You can do a better job blowing the picture up on your PC after you download the image. I am also partial to Canon, I've had the G2 for 2.5 years now, I take it with me mountain bike riding several times a week, and it's been great.

anyone know of a good digital camera?

Budget is a big consideration. Other than that, for fast action shots, like catching the wheels in mid spin without much blur, if any at all, get a camera with a lot of glass - the bigger the lens is out front, the more light you can get into the camera, and the less motion blur you will get...

I agree, as long as you used coax cable, you can basically rule out signal interference in the line. Sorry SG, that's the extent of my ideas. :(

Here's the pics from Siman that I've resized and cleaned up. I don't think I've ever seen worse quality originals... but these should do.
