leaking oil from inside the engine??

Agreed. A leakdown test will pinpoint the problem if it is in the cylinder / piston area. A turbo is a little tougher to diagnose, the easiest method I've thought of is to bolt on a turbo that you know works, and see if the smoke goes away. With the amount of oil it sounds like you have in...

How to retrieve hood bolts from inside body panels?

albertmdh, the top half of them are painted to match the car.

How to retrieve hood bolts from inside body panels?

Nope, new to me. Picked them up from a member here. Oddly enough, a local buddy of mine just sold a set as well - they seem to pop up pretty regularly on the for sale areas, or just email the guys parting entire cars.

    240sx went down

Agreed. Stock 240s are slow as hell. :)

cant rev past 2k rpm when driving

Heh... I know where the guage sender is supposed to be plumbed - I was asking shaeff where his was plumbed. :) If it was mistakenly put in after the AFPR, he's going to get all sorts of silly readings under acceleration...

    Spoilers

Regulus, stock, or wingless, IMO. Check out Acroth's list of bodykits - he has pictures of pretty much everything that's ever been done in the way of a wing. IIRC, the Regulus wing is on the second picture down... http://members.aol.com/akiraneo/kits.html

Ha! I know he'd chime in sooner or later. :D

cant rev past 2k rpm when driving

Another silly question - where is your fuel pressure gauge sensor plumbed? Before or after your AFPR?

    bdashrad's rebuild / supra story

Wow, I've seen many 7M blocks, and I've never seen one stamped like that. Can't hurt anything though, that's the perfect place to stamp the deck surface if you wanted to. Your machine shop should be able to tell if your block and head have already been machined, and by how much. Mine just...

    GrimJack's rebuild

Oh, I did most of the tape. Anything that was old and brittle was replaced.

    GrimJack's rebuild

dirgle is correct - though I found some issues with my knock sensor wiring, so I pulled off the plugs, fixed that up, covered it in heat shrink tubing, and put the plugs back on. At the very least, it lets you put in some time inspecting the harness, so you'll know where faults may be and how...

    some question

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the upgraded ct26, and rakkasan is absolutely correct. The ct26 upgrades usually just remove some material from the inside of the compressor housing so that a larger compressor wheel can be fitted in there. They still use the stock outside parts for...

    performance implications of bad rings?

??? Valve stem seals are made to keep out oil, not air. The combustion is held in the cylinder by the valve itself, not the seal. Short answer - no, leakdown test will not diagnose leaky valve stem seals.

    Which is best?

I have the spec stage 3. It's a six puck, sprung, and I'm quite happy with it. I've got it matched to an RPS billet flywheel. The Spec pressure plate is just a stock unit, repainted blue, so save yourself some coin and buy a stock one + a can of blue spraypaint.

    performance implications of bad rings?

It'll decrease your power, increase your spool time, and make your oil black with soot.

How to retrieve hood bolts from inside body panels?

Excellent! I'll be doing this shortly anyhow, I just picked up a new set of mudflaps, just have to get them painted to match the car...

    GrimJack's rebuild

And then I did a bunch more work. Picked up 4 sizes of wiring loom and replaced all the loom on the engine wiring harness, and after finishing that, plugged it into the motor, bolted on the upper intake manifold, and spent another 6 hours on assembly. Then I took some more pics for my...

    GrimJack's rebuild

Took some pics of the engine bay as it sits - I'll clean it and take another picture or two after it's done.
