I have the one that ronnie showed, I had to bend the claws to work with the head, but I didn't do the reassembly and i don't imagine it would be fun...
Won't leaving it in drive allow the tranny to coast instead of engine brake like you're wanting?
Also keep in mind you're not "beating" on the engine, you still have to do it gradually and pay attention to what you're doing as you're also heat cycling the components.
Eventually you'll go outside the efficency range of the turbo and at that point the IC can't keep up and will heatsoak lowering power.
Better turbo, and you'll eventually hit the flow limit of the stock IC.
As is the case with turbo cars, the true answer is always "it depends."
clarify "locking"
There are some neat ones that have caps that go over them that use a key to unlock, and there are the ones that use a special socket...
Bunch of different styles...
Guess I'm one of those "don't fix it if it isn't broke" people. Install a seal wrong and it will leak badly in no time at all, if it isn't leaking by now you probably have a good couple years before it might.
I think your tranny is a used one though, so I'd go ahead and replace the seals in...
