Now we are starting to get into the period where my schedule is booking fast as well. I can't hold the entire summer open months in advance, folks - I need to be able to plan when to take vacation and coordinate this with the missus.
My weekends for the summer are already half booked. :(
I'll say this again.
THE MOUNTS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.
If your car came with round mounts, you MUST use round mounts on it. Unless you happen to have a different front crossmember, and plan on swapping it out at the same time to accept the other style mounts.
ooo! Something I do know! This sensor is not connected to the ECU in any way, it only runs the boost gauge in the dash.
EDIT: Doh! Beaten by the dirgle again... /sniff... ;)
Oh! Sorry, my bad, that one hasn't been hooked up in my car for so long, I'd forgotten it existed. What I know about that one is rather limited, I'm afraid.
Unless your wastegate starts to open - 4psi on a stock setup, whatever you have it set to if you are running a boost controller - it sounds exactly like a stock DP, sometimes with a very minor exhaust leak.
Stock sensor is not a MAP type, it's an AFM, which outputs a frequency instead of a voltage.
The only way to replace it with a MAP sensor is to run an extra computer - like the MAFT Pro, MAP ECU, or full standalone.
IIRC, the getrag is a fair bit bigger, so harder to fit in a transmission tunnel. Also, it might have started life with a 1J in there, in which case it's easy to swap in the 2J later and keep the existing tranny.
JB Weld is good for some things! Like putting handles on rat tailed files, or gluing quarters to the sidewalk.
Adjustable what? Oh... you mean crescent hammers! ;)
Get a boost controller and keep it under the preset boost levels, and it's all good. Until you WANT to scare the piss out of someone on the sidewalk, anyhow....
