    I HATE smoke....

Smoke that only happens some of the time has usually been valve or turbo seals.

    Lanky has done it

Congratulations, bud. Good luck on the wedding - just remember, this is a day for the ladies, relax, take it all in stride, and whatever you do, DON'T go to the wedding next door and hit on the bridesmaids. (Made for the shortest wedding I've ever attended!) :D

    Capacitor

Those Orion HCCA series amps are kick ass. Right up there with 1st Gen Rodek, 7th & 8th gen HiFonics, and Zapco gear.

    power loss

The new model doesn't adjust. Too many people were mucking it up, so HKS set it from the factory to work on the widest range of setups possible and removed the adjustment.

    any ballers?

I played for a team called WolfPack - I know, terribly orginal, and there must be 100 teams around the continent with the same name. They've been retired since the early 90s. Definitely one of the originals, I think the sticker price on mine was $3250 Canadian - just over $2000 USD at the...

    Capacitor

The noise was distortion from the amp's built in caps running out of power - on the sub amp. On the other amp, it wasn't getting a nice clean 12+ volts anymore because the sub amp was eating too much of the power. I'll agree that modern day competition grade amps should never run out of power...

    Boost Spike?

Well, my stock gasket was completely destroyed at 20psi. It was ok at 15. Somewhere in the middle, it blew up rather badly. With some good tuning, I think I could make one hold 17-18psi. Unfortunately, after spending the coin on the equipment to tune it properly, the cost of a MHG and the...

Go outside and check your crank pulley bolt NOW!

Cool! I had no idea what it was called, a friend of mine is a millwright and offered to cut me a new one in my trashed crank. Luckily I had a spare so I didn't bother. :)

Bah... SF seems to be offline. Again.

Go outside and check your crank pulley bolt NOW!

Agreed - at least for 99.9% of the cases out there. Especially when you take into consideration that my harmonic wasn't just slightly buggered afterwards - it literally honed out the inside until it was about 6mm too big, the whole thing would rattle back and forth several degrees on the end of...

Go outside and check your crank pulley bolt NOW!

I did that to an engine, too. Put it back together with epoxy, lasted another couple months. I hear machine shops have a tool to cut another keyway notch in the crank and harmonic damper, usually 180 degrees out, but you would likely need to get it rebalanced after that.

Is there a way to change rev limiter?

Truth on the head bolt torque. The theories behind this are varied and there are a lot of them - everything from a deliberate failure injected into the manufacturing process to avoid heavier tariffs on japanese imports, to printing mistakes on the TSRM, to alien influence on the design team...

    Changing Cam seal tips?

No worries m8, we all have brain fart days. :D

    Changing Cam seal tips?

I think Lanky was referring to these steps: 0 - pull off timing gear cover 0a - rotate front main pulley with a 17mm socket to align match marks on cam gears with notches in the rear cam gear cover plate 1a - remove cam gears. 3a - reinstall cam gears with the match marks on cam gears with...
