Yes, for a fact, there is a difference. The Targa doors have a little piece that locks into the body, theoretically to stiffen the chassis that's weaker from the Targa.
Is it worth worrying about? I don't think so.
Redline MT-90 for the tranny.
75/90-wt LSD differential carrier oil from Ford for the Diff. The diff oil is a tech tip I picked up from Reg Reimer years ago, tried it and it works. Here's his page on this: http://www.suprasonic.org/public_html/sonictech/mk3/mk3_pmtn.html
I'm not sure what effect heat would have on the gasket - I suspect that overheating would cause your head to warp before it blew the gasket.
I haven't torn down an engine with a BHG yet that couldn't be attributed easily to either lack of torque (usually) or detonation from too much boost...
The stock torque wasn't even enough to stretch the bolts properly, so they could loosen - there's been cases of head bolts that were so loose you could pull them out by hand.
72 foot pounds is perfectly safe on stock head bolts, they are reusable, and a stock head gasket with proper torque will...
What had you done with your PCV before this? If you just plugged it, then yes, that will blow out your front and rear main seals, and possibly your oil pump drive seal and cam seals as well.
If you are really lucky, plumbing everything properly again might let them reseal. It's a whole lot...
$700 would be a steal! My local stealership quoted me $5000 for the harness.
I'm reasonably certain they screwed up and were quoting ALL the wiring in the car, but even so... :(
Ah, no worries. If you turn it down chances are it will drop some, but not all the way back to stock.
Even so, most people need to use a boost controller to hit fuel cut, so chances are your FC level will be higher than what you would get with just this installed.
Dammit, I was expecting a story where your two beautiful bombshell girlie room mates got a little too drunk, naked, and sticky with you in the middle. :(
Agreed. At my office, if you submit a resume / cover letter and it is anything less than perfect, you won't get a call. We just file your application in the trash.
The gasket back there is easy to check. Let your car cool down completely... then fire it up and squeeze your hand back there before the EGR gets hot, which does take a minute.
If it's leaking, you will be able to feel the exhaust pulsing out around the cooler plate.
FC hits anywhere between 11 & 15 psi in those conditions, it really depends on your car, altitude, ambient temperature, and no doubt a bunch of other factors.
Just add a wideband and an EGT gauge to your list and you'll be fine. Those will let you know if your combustion temps go to high or...
You really should replace both the master and the slave just on general principles. They are both 15+ years old, the seals are likely long since past their prime, and they don't cost that much from Toyota anyway.
I'd bet money that any leaking problems you have will magically vanish when you...
Improper size or installation could cause one to blow for sure. I keep forgetting that - it's a rare thing up here, virtually every machine shop that I've tried in Canada keeps both Metric and Imperial plugs in stock, and every shop can get oddball sizes in minutes from their parts wholesalers...
