i found either bending the tips on a set of needle nose plyers work's good, (needs heat to do this aka torch,) or using a set of 90* snap ring plyers works good too, make sure you geta set that fit's the wholes fairly well but not so tight they pop out under pressure, and not a set so loose...

didn't know your could get the replacement metal part, i did that once, and i just replaced the whole cable. wasn't to cheap was like 120 or some thing and i got a discount to drop it to like 90 bucks..

starter contacts.. the nipen denso style starters, have contacts that will start to arc and cause them to have problems starting.. i found that beating on the starter usualy helps, some times you will need some one to crank while you beat. worse case, replace the starter, and completly...

i found if you are spining the pump on the belt and cant break them lose, grabe another 10mm and use i across from the one your breaking lose, go all the way around, and by the time you break the last one lose it takes alot less effort to untighten one of the lose ones you had to put the wrench...
