    timing questions!!!!!

you'll know it when its advanced or retarded using the light. Its quite sensitive. advanced timing = lower egt's. I would set it at 8 degrees to start off since your using a safc. If your pulling fuel at a significant rate you will be advancing timing on the top end. If you find your...

    lean at low rpms

i see similar af ratios. Im building boost in this range (5-7 psi) but still shy of full boost. add fuel or leave it alone? i see 13's af ratio and they work there way to 11's once i cross the 3000rpm range...

    Rod knock?

i would send it out. If the shop isnt knowledgeable in the 7m, it can cost you. Make a list of tips Adjuster (mod on here) and quite a few others have posted on here that need to be done (tq plate, oil clearances, block decking, smoothness, cam cap lapping and line boring etc..) and call a...

    Rod knock?

i foresee a LOT of hanging with the girlfriend :wavey: no need to get butt hurt :3d_frown: A little bit of research on everything you have asked would have brought you your own answers. There are tons of books on these subjects as well. Your engine builder should have been able to answer...

    Rod knock?

outstanding info! was it exhaust leaking back into the intake ? when i think egr leak i think exhaust leak out side of the cylinders leading to a false reading on an o2 sensor. You mind explaining a bit? Possibly a false, lower, reading on the egt's leading to a leaner fuel map?

rx7 550s and lex afm question

i believe the stock ecu pulls timing after 56-5700 rpms, however i havent watched the timing advance/retard on a dyno so ill leave this as "i was told". Safc's arent $700 either.

    Rod knock?

:bsflag: if your going to boost it, run turbo pistons, and stock compression ratios would be decent to shoot for if the block and head are getting decked (when selecting hg thickness). Drop the CP to much and your going to have a pig.

    Fuel Pressure Bleeding Off

You can road tune! Start at 2500 in 4th and do a wot to 3-3500rpms and make adjustments. I do 500 rpm runs until i get a nice af ratio in the midrange and work my way up. Dont pull more then %20 on the safc and knock base timing down to 8 degrees for now. If your pulling 20% or close to it...

Sold my 1JZ yesterday - STOP: bimmertime

rebuilds? replace is more like it! I would look at it like your buying another supra. Would you rather buy a poor condition one that needs work but is cheap or is it worth it to you to spend and extra $XXXX to get one that needs only minor tlc here and there?

    05+ mustang gt vs. mkiii w/ sp61

no clue, in the 350whp range id guess. Stock intercooler is holding me back from more boost and af ratios went from 11.3 to 10.3 after 4500rpms. My setup has a bit left on the table to say the least. i guess i could do more to get it running at its peak...
