you know that stang was thinking he had you in the bag off the line... got to love turbo lag, lets them think they are going to win ;) buy/steal/hustle a new battery for the camera man, I want to see the new motor getting abused this weekend! Hope you find that leak (my guess anyway)...

Turns over but won't start - electrical problems.

if the ecu isnt getting power, neither will the safc.

    bad fuel pump

check the harness for continuity by unplugging the ecu and putting a multimeter lead on the ecu side and then the plug side.

WB in and now a quick AFR Question:

more fp to a point will richen af ratio levels, however you can quickly climb out of the pumps range of operation if you set it to high and add boost to it. Your 1:1 afpr should increase fuel pressure for every psi of boost OVER what your base setting is...

Smoke on startup (Smells like a fire)

large rev followed by a missfire is oil/coolant killing the plug gap (spark) as my guess. Plugs had oil on them, on the top threads all the way down or just on the end?? could be stuck/leaking injector that drips into the cylinder on shut down (assuming the fuel lines are holding pressure) and...

    Which Head Gasket

stopper hg here. What i have read shows guys destroy pistons trying to destroy the stopper. Ij might have ruined one (he has ruined lost of parts :D). Thats the end of the line for hg's. Its costly considering i bet the gasket alone rivals your machine work/parts spent to this point for a...

    Oxygen Sensor Questions

i forked over the cash for a new denso with the connector on it. Mine was a heater circuit issues though. Odd you had that when the car was already warm, unless the wiring is near failure somewhere. For reference my code 21 only came on at a cold start and the light went out once egt's got...

Who has the most time under the hood with a 7m?

i cant hold a candle to most guys here... supracentral has been modding them since the early 90's (it would seem from his post with stories from the past ;)) and im sure a few others. jetjock and his most reliable vehicle, locked it up with no oil and still no issues (unless your...

jdm ecu on a non jdm motor

a jdm auto ecu matching your pin out (gray or yellow) depending on year. Good luck man they arent a dime a dozen. no egr is about the only reason for this as it adds a speed limit (112mph iirc) as well. That can be bypassed by cutting the pink wire (before the timer runs out and the car...

send it to bryan maloffs (sp?) shop in Georgia, Tell him to send back a complete short block and i know more then a few of the guys on here would say thats about as fool proof as it comes...(at least on the machine work and tolerances)

    Coolant leak question

Yota only parts is all i use now a days..... jeff (champion yota) is hard to beat for crucial parts man!! Let us know, hope its that "simple" ;). There isnt anything above that other then the thermostat elbow that can leak (besides a sensor).

    Timing Question

^ agreed, IJ has stated that you have to move both in sequence. They are not there for fine tuning individually.
