Good point, but the CORRECT setup wont have this issue. You cant just throw an e fan on the stock mk3 and expect superior results. Wirng, relays, contorl, power supply all have to be accounted for and upgraded where needed. Thats the problem, most ive seen dont bother with the rest of the...
my point is that a properly sized electric fan with the correct setup would work better then a clutch fan at idle. I'm betting most cheap out and get the dinky ebay fans or something similar. A decent OEM fan would do much better.. (like one off a viper or lincon mkVII ) If you took the stock...
remove the pre turbo intake. Take the power steering belt off and leave the ps pump bracket loose.. Push the pump as far to the left (as if tightening the belt if it where on) as you can. Enjoy the next 10 minutes of back ache as you slide a wrench along the block and make progress 1/4 turn at...
search at mkiiitech.com
search the threads at the top of th PIGGYBACK section. Every bit of the maftpro has been covered in detail. Only reason im not listing links is because its stickied in several sections on this forum alone..
your either going to need a maap sensor and AIT or a MAF...
At operating temps my stock gauge said 30 psi, the mechanical said 45psi at 3000rpms. Im sure a new sender was in order but i went with an aftermarket gauge since i was already working in that area.
hook up timing control and pull 4-5 *. You'd be even better off if you hooked up timing monitor and pulled 10*. Add it back in 2* at a time and watch the timing monitor to see when A. the ecu isnt adding any more timing, B. the ecu is pulling timing (at which point id go back down 2*) C. it...
see that flat spot right above the ecu temp sender? drill and tap that for what ever threads your aftermarket sender is for. Everything else stays hooked up as it should be and you get accurate temp readings.
Mine was 1/8npt. IIRC the tap cost >$5 at homedepot.
Few pics after the spring buffing and waxing.
I used a porter-cable dual action orbital buffer with:
1.CCS orange light cutting pad with Poorboys SSR1
2. CCS white polishing pad with Poorboys Polish
3. CCS gray finishing pad with Natty's paste wax
Hoping to get more with some better...
In the bumper beam should fit nicely. Thats where i wanted to put mine but no fabrication tools and no ducting made it near impossible.
That threads OLD! That was my first lesson to stop penny pinching so much.
part throttle tracking or is the ecu running the show?
nothing looks out of place with the readings.
My throttle response isnt the greatest when the car is cold. Is it at operating temps?
