I can confirm this. Any bike shop that does hondas should have a nice supply of shims. When i did mine the honda bike dealer had 3 or 4 trays with about 4-500 shims.
look at the valve covers, see the ports behind the "3000" pipe? pull/twist those out, they are pressed in. Then drill and tap the hole for a larger fitting.
edited first post.
You still have timing to worry about, lower boost = more timing with a stock ecu. Then consider your running pump (assuming) and the chance of inconstancy with that. low 11's to high 10's afr regardless of boost but its your car.
How do expect to tune the other 98% of the fuel map? Have you tried this with a safc? Read below
Its not that simple tuning closed loop with a safc, for one you have nothing to tune based on load. You can easily hit every load point from idle to boost in almost every tps range. What...
dude, we ran the car with out the battery and then with out the alternator, battery and alt.=100% :sarcasm:
Not directed at you op, unless of course this is the extent of your testing.

run a 5w30 usuing a good oil psi gauge. See what if gives you at 3000rpms and idle. If pressure is above spec or in the high range of the spec try a 5w-20.
Work like that is usually out sourced from my experience with local dealerships. I know the machine shop dealerships use in my area and i personally wouldn't use them. They have a hit and miss reputation with locals around here (both individuals and performance shops with various engines).
What i meant was something didn't look right with your post and the numbers you gave. Not with the actual measurements. Did you/they measure the actual bearing as well?
Apparently fluidyne uses stants re labeled. After i found my caps to be $50 pieces of trash i called fluidyne and they gave me the stant part number instead of replacing them. Sad huh? Same cap used on the 84-89 300zx for 13psi. Stant 11227, napa # 703-2443. If you want a 16psi cap its the...
Something isnt right with those measurments. The bearing clearance measure .025mm? Tsrm spec is min 0.030-0.048mm. Max is .07mm. If you measured the bearing wall itself thats not right either.
a .25 undersize bearing shows as 2.123-2.133mm per tsrm.
MUCH cheaper to rebuild the 7m in the long run if done CORRECTLY! Call a few of our vendors and have them do a stock rebuild. Most will have a core already and you'll probally pay right at or a bit more then a jdm motor after shipping. Worth it to start fresh imho.
with the radiator cap off, even cold it will slowly begin to overflow as it heats up... Test the cap too if your seeing hgher then "normal" water levels in the overflow tank. I had two NEW fluidyne caps that tested bad right out of the box.. On held 13 psi and slowly leaked it off and the...
Hook the VF output from the ecu into the blue wire on the safc (google "safc blue wire mod", used by dsms to watch the o2 sensor voltage). You can then look at it on the safc and tune vf's. With the safc being tps/rpm based your not going to be able to tune vf's very well through out the rpm...
