    Bearing Measurements

IJ: what type of clearances did you run for the cam caps when opening up the bottom end and using thicker oil? I see a few guys follow this path for the higher hp goals but haven't seen any mention anything about the clearances for the cams..

    ProSport water temp gauge

^ have fun with that. That top port is not just for cooling the turbo. I had horrible warm up time in cold weather and odd heat spikes in the summer when the thermo stat tried to open. Not to mention almost any use of the heater cooled the car off to the point of re entering cold start...

Oxalic acid flush, created something when neutralized..

I'll be ordering some ph strips as well. Aside from draining and refilling, what else can be added to bring ph up? I feel like a trial by fire chemist after this weekend!

Oxalic acid flush, created something when neutralized..

Blocking the front of the nose and turning the ac on max allowed me to maintain right at 200*f. Ran it at idle and high idle for 45minutes. Initial draining gave me a reddish tinted water. After adding the base i was able to get most of it out within 10-15 minutes. No blue/green chemical...

Oxalic acid flush, created something when neutralized..

I'll have to block the radiator to get temps up. Ac doesnt really have an effect. Almost instantly the build up, or what ever formed dissapeared after adding another 2tb spoon acid dose. In the thermo housing, the walls of the metal have taken on a light sea green color. Looks like the...

Oxalic acid flush, created something when neutralized..

I followed this: I think I'll avoid soaps and do another acid fill with several drain & fills before going to the base. Just realized my error, i used a tb spoon of soda ash.. I wonder if jetjock tried his recipe out in his meth lab to get the dosage suggested.. Knowing him from the...

Oxalic acid flush, created something when neutralized..

ok had a chance to pull the thermo housing. Only the brass/copper sensors have the wierd green/blue coloring. Not the entire sensor tip though, just around the sensor base. Now there is a nice thin layer of rust on the walls of everything i can see. Not solid, it wipes off easily The stuff...

Oxalic acid flush, created something when neutralized..

Gave oxalic acid a shot for flushing rust particles out of my cooling system. OK I used 3 TB spoons of oxalic acid mixed in with distilled water after flushing the coolant out of my cooling system. Things looked great until i flushed and added the soda ash. A green/blue "film" formed on the...

Will you be able to easily tell if it had BHG.

Stop your bitching, fix the car and move on. There are quite a few things you could have done to verify the HG condition and type. You should never take a buyer for face value. Do your own testing and make sure your satisfied with it BEFORE handing over the cash. It takes a split second...

    Camshaft Wear

for an in car repair id say go for it. Technically its not the correct fix though so I dont mention this. I have done the above with good results as well. Considering the heads off the car you might as well do it correctly. op: Your going to have to shop around in your area for a machine...

    Camshaft Wear

these clearances will play a part in your low rpm oil psi. Idle, low rpm cruise etc.. The pump should over come the lose as rpms climb. Look at driftmotion for a nice upgraded pump. Talk to suprarich. He does stock re grinds.. If it were me, send the cams and head into a good shop, have...
