I might just need a bigger hammer. The one I'm using is just a small one. I had no idea that sucker would be in there this snug...
ah ha! That's the type of tool I was hoping to find... but Autozone didnt have that. Checker might have though... I'll check this weekend. Thanks!
So I'm trying to repair my 88 auto and I can not for the life of me get the tie rod separated from the steering knuckle. I've read up on other cars and people simply hammering the knuckle casting to jar it loose, people using a pickle fork to seperate them and I can't get those to work.
I can't...
For the hood, I haven't seen a really good stock drop-in replacement. The stock hood has the latch, struts, and underside insulation that bolt up to the underside of the hood's frame. I'd love to find a carbon fiber hood that would function 100% like stock. Hood struts and everything.
Maybe I...
Thanks guys! And with as much time as I have spent around here over the last three years I think I better know my shit. :icon_razz At this point I've done 1 full head gasket job and rebuilt 2 7M's so I think I'm getting the basics down pretty well.
Now it's time to tackle the finer things...
Got a bosch 710 bpv (Same as 110 bosch) and it sounds a lot less ricey than my stock toyota bpv that was fluttering like crazy.
Still stock exhaust, only "power" mod is an apexi intake. Boost is at 6 psi. Fun, but not nearly enough. I want closer to ~10psi, but it'll have to wait until I can...
Wow. Dumb video. They were both slow as hell as I could tell. Nothing to be mad about. Slow stock mk3, slightly less slow 240 with a ton of mods.
Dumb video.
I may have to do that when I pick up the bosch tomorrow.
Ah, I think you're right.
Yeah, I found those online, but was hoping to find it locally. All the stuff online I had read led me to believe I could pick it up at any Checker/Kragen/Oreileys/Autozone, but they all were completely...
Update:
Car has been running with a fully refreshed head for a few weeks now. Went with ARP studs and OEM Headgasket. I figure since the transmission and clutch are going to hold ~350 rwhp max, I can get by with a composite HG. If it blows down the road I'll do it right and pull everything and...
Thanks for the quick response Grim.
You're right about the power difference. I would bet the 3.0 liter Porsche turbos he deals with move a LOT more air than my stock ct26/7M does.
The port size is another thing I considered as well, I just wasn't sure how well that air moves through the Bosch...
So upon inspecting my stock Toyota BPV, it is completely shot. I dont know how I was even boosting so well because I can blow straight through it.
Anyways... finding the 110 has proved very difficult. I finally found a porsche dealer (actually a well known local euro tuning shop) that could...
Grim, how much does Toyota Red go for in your area? I just picked some up here and it was $29.50/gallon. I thought I remembered it being more like $20, butI haven't bought any in a few years.
Installed mine yesterday. Fitment is ok except the radiator hoses are too large for the mishi rad hose fittings! I didn't trust my toyota spring clamp so i used a worm gear clamp and it leaks... Maybe I just need to tighten it, but this seems like an important "direct fit" issue.
How have you...
I dont really care. It's about the dramatic. It might be the same guy since day 1 for all I care. To me, he's simply a stuntman filling out a scripted role.
Sure, he drives like hell, but his character is what makes him, not the person behind the mask.
^^Thats what I read.
The difference between stock pre89 and 89+ is subtle. I think it's really tough to notice anything at all.
If you want a slightly lowered look, but still passable as factory, I'd go with Eibach. If I don't do coilovers, I'm going with Eibach and either Koni, Tokico or the...
I believe that's what pepople do with the JZA70 canister. I'll be looking into this soon once I get mine GTE back together. The less clutter the better, but I dont want to sacrifice any functional pieces.
