Yeah, I'm fighting against time now... I want to sell it in favor of a land cruiser for the snow and selling a sports car gets harder and harder the next few months.
I'll take a ton of pics, dont you guys worry! ;)
You're a little late on the advice, lol. Engine was installed months ago...
Installed the new element today! (I ordered Saturday afternoon and it arrived Monday.... holy crap)
IT COOLS!!! It's sitting at 41 right now. Not as cold as it could be but that's in range of where it should be. Thanks a TON Dirgle and Pi. Dirgle I owe you $10. ;)
There is a very slight gap at...
Haha, this one actually took a while. I was strapped for time more than anything. But having the resources to pull a motor and rebuild it all in your garage is a great thing. I can't stand to own cars that dont get driven, so I get them up and running! (BUT... I am also perfectly content with a...
With a 4.3 you'll barely begin to boost before you need to shift. If you don't already have a big downpipe, that might help your boost hit faster.
I think you've got to be uncommonly fast at shifting for a 4.3 to be very beneficial anyways.

Yes, all mk3 diffs are direct plug and play.
I have a 4.3 LSD in my GTE swapped car now and I wish I had a 3.73. I dont think the higher gears make much of a difference in peppiness, but it sure does get annoying shifting so often. Plus, on the highway I'm at lie 4k rpms. The car will do 80...
Rebuilt steering rack on it's way and a thorough cleaning and this baby will be up for sale! The car needs new shocks and could use new tires but it's a very clean/stock example of a mk3. It's been my daily driver for the last few months and never let me down (except for a battery cable that...
Hmm... well I reassembled with Arctic Silver and still no luck. It stays at room temp. The peltier element gets very hot and very cold instantly when I turned it on for 1 second. Maybe I killed it before though.
When I first got the fridge powered on, the fan didnt work, so it just sat there...
Ahhhh. Clever!
BUT... it doesn't get cold enough apparently. As for the pump, I'm an idiot. It's for the kegerator portion and pumps air into containter without their own CO2 supply. So that's unrelated.
The Model is IC-PRO-5000. It's made by IcyCool, which appears to have gone under a while...
Hello all you experts. I have a problem and if anyone can help me track down and fix the problem I have $10 via paypal waiting...
My sweetheart of a girlfriend got me a mini-kegerator for my birthday and it doesn't cool. It appears to have been manufactured in 07, but it's brand new/never used...
I am perfectly content to wait another 6 months if I need to for them to work out any bugs. They have been exceptional in the past and there has simply been NO OTHER racing simulator for a console to compete with ANY of the gt series at their respective release dates.
GT5 will be by far the...
Well your best option is to pull it all and take it to a shop that will machine it flat again and make it smooth.
However, realizing that would be a huge pain and you might need the vehicle... You could pull the head and get a Toyota OEM head gasket and torque it to the proper amount. The OEM...
I see. That makes sense. Guess I just got lucky with both mine then. :dunno:
Had I done my rebuild after getting my current job I would have opted to take more time and money to go the select fit route, but I just needed them up and running reliably.
Good to know though.

Can you not purchase standard aftermarket bearings if the crank is polished to OEM standard specs?
I used a std set of bearings on two rebuilds and all clearances were within spec. I'm sure I could have gotten them all slightly closer to the tight end of the standard spec if I used Toyota...
Yikes... The machine shop should have made the block smooth. If they didn't then you should have had them fix it in the first place. Lapping is tricky to begin with if you're using it only for surface finishing, but you'll never keep it flat trying to remove grooves with that procedure...
It...
Agreed.
I want to do this as well, but to do it well is no small task. If you half ass it, you might as well not do it.
All or nothing, because poorly done projectors are just plain dangerous.
