The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

Good catch. I should've put those all on one line. I'm still debating which route to go. The MAFT Pro would be ideal, but is more involved and more costly. I have a feeling I'll be settling for the SAFC with the Lex AFM and 550's, but we'll see. CRE is in my area and knows the MAFT Pro setup as...

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

After 3 years and counting of obsessing over the MK3, I've owned 3 (2 turbo, 1 NA) and only gained enthusiasm. I'm finally ready to build a BPU MK3. After 310,000 miles my 7MGE is going to be separated from its body after 20 years of more or less "loyal" service. I'll be documenting some of...

    Sharing Some MKIII Love

Sure you get this question a lot, but what wing is that?! I've seen it a few times now (or a similar one) and it is sooooo smooth. I love it.

So, my stock CT26 has gone bad, what are my possibilities? Upgrade? eBay CT26?

I'll throw in a vote for a rebuilt CT from dfirtmotion. Aaron is great with customer service and does excellent work. A mildly trimmed CT-26 will run you ~650 if you dont send a core to them. You'll have the rest left to cover shipping or maybe put towards another mod. :)

    7mgte problums

Check for engine codes. If no codes, then you need to verify you're getting fuel, air and spark. Does it stumble at all?

Head's off. ARP Studs finger loose (block side), proper torque? (progress pics too)

When installing ARP studs, they only go on hand tight. You can use an allen wrench to get them a little tighter, but a while back they didn't even have that hex insert, so your only choice was hand tight. Just get them hand tight again and you're fine. I dont know if thread lock would do you...

    W58 clutch options ~ 375 ft lbs

Thank you for all your input guys. I carefully considered the Spec, competition, ACT, and clutchmasters and I decided on the ts3-xtmm from ACT. It can hold 350 ft-lbs and is a full face disc. The other companies had very similar offerings in the same price range so in the end it was a toss up...

    88 Turbo: The Undead

Still have her. I'm about to start daily driving her while I do my GTE swap on the 90 NA in my sig. :) Today I replaced the water pump. Now the cooling system doesn't leak or take in air bubbles. Woot!! Fixed the driver's seat a while back. Tranny still has a slip from 2k-3k rpm in second...

Auto tranny slips at low speeds

UPDATE: Did some driving in the car today. Here's the scoop: Only slips for ~2k-3.2k rpms in 2nd gear. All other gears and ranges seem perfectly fine. Does that indicate bad bands? Need a rebuild/new tranny?
