If you want to go the simple route, see my sig.
If you want to go crazy then you better know your wiring damn well and be prepared to spend many hours fiddling. Supradupra's set-up isn't something many people on here can do...
Ya, I checked for codes first thing. I should have included that in my earlier posts. No codes, so it must be mechanical. I'll start running through the TSRM steps for troubleshooting.
OH**** so this may be important.
The transmission was full when I started to drain it using the cooler line...
I could take it to aamco, havent really considered that, but I could try.
Its perfectly normal for there to be some indications of wear on a car with 128k miles. They put magnets in the pan for a reason. ;) As for the clutch packs, that could be, but I haven't a clue.
There is no whining...
Well I changed out the filter and fluid. The fluid is now very fresh looking. After 20 miles, the car still slips just about the same.
How can I narrow down whether it's the locking solenoid or maybe the pump or if the tranny is just dead?
OH, and the car only has 128k and had plenty of oil...
Looking at getting a mossberg 500 or rem 870 myself for home defense. I'm realizing my sig is more of a toy at the moment and a shotgun is a more realistic option for home defense.
These should work as replacements, but I haven't tried them myself.

I never understand this. Some people plan waaaaaaayyy too far ahead. It's fine to dream big, but be realistic. Are you planning on making double or triple what you make now? Are you inheriting an estate? How are you planning to go from not being able to pay $500 for a car upfront to doing a swap...
Thank you guys. I'll replace the fluid and filter and go from there. If thats fails ill look into the solenoid.
Jdub, thanks for the fluid change reference, I was just going to drain it and dilute one quart at a time.
Hey guys, my 88 turbo auto project car is having some trouble.
CLIFFS: Auto tranny slips in 2nd gear from 2k~3.2k rpm.
Car is drivable, just doesn't catch in 2nd at those rpms.
Any adjustments that I should check? New to auto's so I'm kinda clueless...
The tranny slips intermittently, mostly...
Thanks guys. I'm leaning towards the Spec clutches so far. Either stage 3 or 2+. The 2+ is only 340 ft-lbs, but should be enough for my likely power level. I'm also considering the w-58 might not like much more than ~350 ft-lbs before it grenades and I'd like to be able to romp on it without...
Hey everyone, I'm in the final stages of parts gathering for my turbo swap. I have a newly rebuilt w58 that I will be using. DO NOT TELL ME TO SWITCH TO AN R154! I am sticking with the w58 and that's that.
Now I'm seeing a few aftermarket clutch options available, but can't get much of any...
Well pretty much forgot to take any pics while reassembling. Motor is in and the car idles soooo smooth. It's amazing how quiet a 7M can be with new bearings and proper valve lash.
It will be broken in starting tomorrow night. Then on to tackle a power steering leak and fix the seats. After...
