You should search. Maybe try looking at the stickies in the GE and/or GTE sections. There is a very clear step-by-step process laid out. 49 steps. 15 ton crane is overkill. Not sure how accurately you can control said "crane", but a manual engine hoist is easy to use and allows for plenty...

Your oil will turn black even with a perfectly healthy, clean motor. It's not necessarily relevant to the oil or your engine's health. I cringe anytime somebody infers that color somehow determines an oil's health. If you want to know how much crap is being "cleaned" out of your motor...
