    didn't you mark your TPS location when you removed it? When you took it off, the spring works but when it springs back does it go back ALL the way or could you turn it more manually? If TPS is ok, give it a boost leak test, its probably your best bet for that idle problem.

    have you driven it around at all...is acceleration smooth? or does it bog? and still, check your oil just in case and do a boost leak test, its easy and could potentially really help your problems

    you can adjust the position of the tensioner, not sure how honestly but i know it can be done rather easily.

    you resurfaced for the headgasket as needed correct? Did you bother dumping the oil to check for coolant? Do a boost leak test, it will find your air leaks. My afpr is set for 40PSI as well but my car is tuned to that, when it was untuned it didn't really make much of a difference at idle...

    my driver side just started exibiting the signs.....my passenger side works perfect.....for now............IOW not the motor Is it possible a not properly grounded relay/fuse could be burning the switches out??

    spring is internal, hence you must remove the TPS and play with it to see.

    Alright, i got my 'new' switches in the mail a week or so back. I installed them and worked great short of the fact my 88faceplate won't work on the driver side now. After a week or so the passenger window button (on the driver side switch) works only 25% of the time when puttuing the window...

    its a very simple thing to remove and check...take the TPS off and check how the spring is...if its original, you may have a sticky spring. I know i did, my throttle was constantly at 20~25% after the rebuild. When i took it off i realized the spring was basically stuck. No codes will be thrown...

    Its a direct fit especially made for BMW's (with the right interior of course). There really are no ohter options for ones that will disapear as if it were never there. Of course you can get cheapos that glue on or attatch to your vents or even screw on the dash...but who wants those on a BMW?

    I like BMW's, i just never liked how much plastic they use in the engine bay...they cover up all the good stuff....Also, the cup holders BLOW, invest in new ones....and i mean INVEST, they're usually pretty expensive if you get the direct fit ones. I think my mom got one for like $80+!!
