Choppy acceleration, on and off, seemingly like a misfire but not.
Changed Plugs
New wires
Volt tested and Resistance checked coils
Checked for boost leaks
Blocked off leaky EGR
Feul pressure is STRONG
Resistance checked ISC - ok
No knock sensor levels
TPS - new...
you should do one over Thanksgiving break maybe, like the weekend before that thursday, most people should be home from school like me :) . Plus i already have dyno graphs at RT tuning so i can compare to what im at now
51? i think. has to do with AC not being there or no signal from starter? something along those lines it comes up when the car stalls out or just about stalls out but just goes away. I don't believe its related at all to this problem...
Feul pressure is strong, i have a guage for it, 39PSI idle, around 57PSI full throttle higher RPM's
Ill check out the injectors tomorrow i don't think ill have time today. But they are new RC550's, should they have same resistance as stock injectors?
What is Vf reading???
Edit: another...
OK, well i used a friends wire harnes to check, his came out with all 12V.
While mine was off i cleaned it off and checked it again, this time all 12V! so i must have not made enough contact yesterday or had a good enough ground cause i tried several times.
Anyway. My acceleration problem...
I tried testing the connector the 3 wires to the coil pack connect to but coulnt get voltage out of it at all from any of the 4 wires....how do i go about testing that connector? do i have to ground it a special way?
But i run with a lot of power. i can barely hold the tires in first when the boost kicks in....is that plausible on 4 cylanders?
Also, can i run a wire from somewhere to give it voltage in the mean time. i have no toyota dealers for a long drive around here?
This is kind of a continuation of my other thread "life expectancy of coil packs". i felt it might need a new one.
Basically i did the coil pack check according to TSRM, my results
:I did the resistance check which resulted in .5-.6OHMS - good
I did continuity test and all tested...
well then technically coulnd't a spectator spill the guts?? so he could happen to mention it to someone and discuss it with "someone who was there" and they could relay the info here :naughty: problem solved
^but wouldn't that mean i get no spark in that coil? My car runs....? Is it possible its running on 4 cylanders??? thats seems wierd
I disconnected the connector that plugs to the 3 wires for the coil pack and tried to test for voltage but couldn't get voltage on any wire? I grounded the...
New question: I just did the resistance checks and recieved resistences as high as .6OHM thats .1 over what spec calls which should be OK. However. I did the voltage check and found both coils on the left (if youre facing the engine) got just under 12V around 11.7-11.9. The last coil has no...
