It don't believe it frys them.. Running LED's below their intended voltage range will make them give off slightly different lumens. I'm by no means an expert though. However, I absolutely love the LEDs in my car. They could be a little whiter though. But thats beside the point. I don't think...
WHAT. A. PITA. Seriously. There has got to be a better way of doing valvesprings. 3 and a half hours to do all the seals, and put the valve springs on. Only took me about 20 minutes to get the seals on... I'm so glad its over. Now I have to deal with shimming the cams though..

Personally, I always ran 89 octane and never had any troubles. I don't really see a reason to run 91 on a car with 9.1 compression.. Now if it was boosted, thats a completely different story.
IJ, I was asking about the size of the washers for the ARP studs. And I actually have the GTE block, so its no longer N/A-T, just a full GTE swap (including pistons). But it looks like I will need to find a 7m -10 oil drain flange. Definitely not going to hook up the factory lines, lol. I assume...
Honestly, the machine shop is probably just used to small block Chevy's and doesn't know about the intricacies of a 7M.
You'll be lucky to find a set without scoring. While I might regret saying this before you post pictures, I say go for it. But definitely get some pics up.

1st question, I bought a used ARP Head Stud kit, and it did not come with washers. Is it okay to run like this, or do I need some washers? Could I use factory head bolt washers?
2nd question, My original plans were to go N/A-T, but now I'm just doing a full GTE swap. Should I buy/make a...
Its really all personal preference. All the jz fans will say 7ms *can* be reliable, 7m owners say they are reliable. I still stand by the point that any car with any engine can be reliable, as long as the required maintenance is done.
The 2JZ isn't gods engine. Its just as susceptible to...
So. I found an entire 7M-GTE for 250 bucks. Thats EVERYTHING, both manifolds, turbo, head, block, everything. Including ECU and wiring harness! The machine shop is paying for the engine, plus fuel to get it, as its in Kansas. I think thats a steal..
The whole thing might be a blessing in disguise. I feel that by running the lower compression I will get more power through more boost. Plus now I don't have to mess around with Turbo feed and drain.. just have to get an fittings for Turbo feed and drain lol. The machine shop is paying for a new...
I've heard ACLs are hard to come by.. And as for the machine shop.. They actually did a very good job for everything else. If they wouldn't have tapped that other knock sensor to the wrong thread pitch then it would have been perfect. Shit happens when you drill and tap and weld and drill and...
Bad news. The machine shop agreed to fix the knock sensor, and replace the sensor they mangled. They heated the block, then welded it. And cracked the block. The good news is they're replacing the block, and doing all the machine work free of charge.. Maybe the next block wont need to be decked...
