I would definitely upgrade suspension. Im running tokico blues with B&G springs, and the handling is pretty good. I really need a sway bar.. I'm getting oversteer into high speed corners. Thats right folks! A mk3 with OVERsteer.
Also check for warpage with a straight edge. I recently bought a rebuilt head, surfaced for a mhg that was warped 40 thou on the bottom and close to an eighth of an inch on the top.
So, I've decided to go through and atleast put new rings in the engine. I'll mic the bottom end and see if just a standard set of bearings would be enough, or if I'd need select fit bearings. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to pick up the Clevite-77 bearings off Driftmotion and put those in, and put...
I read this and had to poke back. Apparently you don't watch NASCAR very carefully. (I'm not saying I like NASCAR, but I've seen a race or two) Coming into the turns you can easily see the rotors glowing bright red and sparks flying off of them. They use their brakes.
I know that pre 89 and post 89 are atleast different in appearance. Past that I dunno. If it was my car I'd stick with the same year, even if wiring was the same.
The stock Toyota gasket will be fine for what I want. I'm not going for over 300-350 horsepower, and when I do (which will not be for a long time) I will rebuild the engine then.

Im going to use a stock Toyota gasket + ARP studs torqued at 85 ft lbs.
Also, anybody know of a tool for compressing valve springs in a 7M? The tool my dad has doesnt work.
Also, the shifter housings will differ from transmission to transmission. I know for a fact the sc300 W58 and the Mk3 Supra W58 have two different shifter housings.
Well I got the head off today and I was not expecting to see this.. at all. I have never had symptoms of a blown head gasket. Never overheated, never mixed oil and coolant, never had exhaust in the coolant either.. but yet.. this is by far the worst blown head gasket I have ever seen. All six...
The problem is more of it will cause the engine to run lean I believe. When the egr is open the Ecu is compensating for the inert gasses entering the engine.
