appearantly there are some rumors floating about about a MAFT pro v2.....there is NO fact to this. heck, the current MAFT pro has barely been out a year....no major hardware revisions are planned for some time.
note that the MAFT gen 2 will be coming out soon- sorta like a baby MAFT pro. it's...
exactly. it's a sticky in the q+a section on mkiiitech.....not sure how much easier to find i could make it....perhaps blinking lights? heck, it's in my sig!
hmmmmm.....
FCO is present to save the car in the event that something goes wrong....unfortunately that doesn't play well with upping the boost.
FCO has NOTHING to do with actual fueling (no, larger inj. or fuel pumps won't make it go away...), it's merely triggered when you get enough inputs...
let's have some fact:
-redline 75w90 DOES have a friction modifier in it. personally, i've found it to be too much for the aging A70 diffs (i.e. slips too much, minimal LSD action...).
-redline 75w90NS does NOT have a friction modifier (NS = no slip).
-redline MTL (70w80) is lighter than...
heh. i still can't understand why clipping ONE resistor is such a huge deal....but i digress...
as it stands now, the timing control will just be software....
reading the FAQ on MKIIItech.com is probably the easiest way to keep up to date.
the MAFT pro is the only device in existance that can monitor actual timing real time on the 7M.
timing control may be coming out later this yr....
how is this an issue? it has not jumped out of no where. clipping the resistor is NOT difficult....
yes, in order to use the timing monitor you will need to clip the resistor.

yup.
note that you must be running speed/density to monitor timing (you're using the AFM input to monitor timing...).
just a note to those using the timing monitor- after setting it up, you'll need connect a timing light @ idle and adjust Tm Base to match up the MAFT pro's timing reading and the reading on your timing light. it may be a good idea to take some readings at higher RPM as well and use Tm Correct to...
