I've had three supras in four diff. texas cities (San Antonio, Austin, College Station, Houston), and *knock on wood* never been cited for not having a front plate, even when being pulled over for speeding.... ymmv though of course
I was thinking of bending the front plate to not restrict...
I just bought a new set from Jeff Watson at Champion Toyota, around $10 a pop. I also ordered new valve cover bolt washers (the ones with the runner backing that form into the hole of the valve cover).
On that note, I couldn't believe how clean my top end was, it looked like new and has 20k...
yeah its the chrome finish. I would have just powdercoated them, but this ceramic coating shouldn't ever even think of coming off, and I wanted it to match the other stuff. My ceramic coated heat shields have been coated for years and they still look new.
Would there be any reason heat wise to not coat your valve covers? Do they perform any essential heat sink function or anything?? I sent a bunch of stuff off to be 2000 degree coated, and though "why not" on the valve covers.... I still have a chance to stop it in case I'm making a mistake
Oh dear God, its a FRAM!
I take full responsibility for the total lack of help this provided you, I hope you figure it out, but dear god get another oil filter
my goodness, it isn't that expensive, especially for something that is going to be in there a good while. Spend $50 and get redline stuff. MT-90 for tranny (4 qts) and 75w-90 (some use shockproof) (2 qts) for diff.
6qts x 7.99 = $42 + shipping from summit, nuff said. If you didn't care...
Is it? I took mine off along with half the engine to get ceramic coated and I pulled the canister off and the vac line looking line on the bottom lead off down towards the elbow ans then nothing... is this supposed to be unconnected? I looked around and didn't see a place for it to be plugged...
because I just LOVE how my AP Racing big brakes with metal pads screech like a BITCH when slowing to a stop around town, it just screams "check me out, you think my brakes are f'd when they actaully cost over 3k..." :icon_mad:
They do stop like a mo-fo though when I get on 'em
thanks for that, but I guess I'm still a little confused as to whether I should get the 3" or 3.25".... as those in the link and HTS have the same clamp ranges
I'm about to get some new couplers and t-bolt clamps from hightempsilicone, but I'm wondering about clamp sizing.
I'm buying a 3" hump conected to connect IC piping to HKS 3K pipe. So I assumed I needed a 3" clamp, but the 2.75" clamp says its clamping range is 2.88" - 3.19." So can I just...
perhaps sounds like the ISC (idle speed control) hose that connects to the ISC itself (the thing that kinds looks liks another TPS, but oriented sideways on the front "end" of the intake manifold. Are you saying it connect to the "front" metal tube that runs across the 3k pipe? If so thats...
concerns the gap it ships with. I asked a month ago and someone gave some detail,

my bumper isn't messed up, just needs repainting.... wondering if the prep work on old one is more than buying a brand new one and dropping it off at the paint shop....
nice looking stuff. For some reason its so cool to see big brand new parts for 15+ year old cars...
