    Should I drive it???

Do this ASAP! If coolant got into the oil, it will harm the bearings very quickly. IJ is telling you to make darn sure there is no residual coolant in the oil. Change the filter too!

    EGT safe condition!

He does have a wideband ;) Yep...very old school. A wideband and EGT gauge combo tells you an awful lot about that's happening in your cylinders.

Pulling 7M out without the head on?

Actually, that's exactly how me and a buddy did it...head bolts w/ a couple thick washers on each side of the chain link. Worked well ;)

    Having troubles starting.

Cory - You're right...I apologize for side tracking the thread like this. Jake - No hard feelings here...I'd be interested in anything you dig up.

    Having troubles starting.

Jake - You can use whatever oil you wish...and I've got a feeling that you are going to do so regardless of what I say. But, for the benefit of others that may read this thread, there are a few points to make: 1) If you notice, Toyota also recommends a 10W-30 for the same temp range in the...

Woo! Head Gasket Boom Boom! Yeah!

Not that big an impact...assuming there is a small amount removed. Are you going to get the seals replaced? Or go for the complete head re-build?

    6m crank in my 7m!

Early '89's had the 6M crank as well ;) Seen a couple in later models too...either Toyota simply used up the 6M crank supply or the car did not have the original motor. The 6M crank will balance out nicely, especially if it's lightened up a bit....but, the 7M is smoother with the same...

    Ceramic Coating

Oh look...I've always wanted a DDP! LOL! BTW - It's $25 a foot for chrome...$35 a foot for black. Include the DDP part in the linear measurement. The chrome will turn a titanium grey color from the high heat this part receives...the black will turn from a semi-gloss to flat. Oliver's...

    EGT safe condition!

Yep, you want to have the EGT probe pre-turbo where you can get an average reading. Got mine on the bottom of the turbine housing, just past the flange. I have not done a 110 MPH run lately, but at 85 w/ 14.6-14.8 AFR with basically the same mods, I get about 680 deg C (1250 deg F). In...

I'm going to need help with this AEM...

    Edit: I'm a dumbass...just measured it against my chart. It's a 3/8" NPT.

I'm going to need help with this AEM...

Thought the GM AIT sensor was 1/2" NPT.

Woo! Head Gasket Boom Boom! Yeah!

Cleaning injectors takes specialized equipment...carb cleaner is not going to do a very good job. You should be able to find someone locally that can do it...typically it costs $15-20 per injector.

    vacuum question

Keep them. Unless you know exactly what you're doing, removing vac lines is a sure fire way to make your motor run like crap. ;)

    Having troubles starting.

No shouting coming from this end Jake, but all I was able to glean from your post was opinion. Nothing about bearing design, oil boundary layer, oil film thickness, or the oil's additional duty of removing heat...especially from the bearings. It's a very common opinion...been around for a long...

Yeah - That Matterhorn scene got my attention too...done some pretty crazy stuff in jets, but nothing like that!

    Temp sensor?

The bottom sensor on the water neck and not the (dome shaped) thermo housing correct? The one marked coolant gauge sensor in this pic: If that's it, all it does is provide input to the gauge...just replace the connector and hook it back up.

The most fun you can have with your clothes on ;) http://www.glumbert.com:80/media/swiss There is some indcredible flying in this video...it would be even better if you could see the altimeter, VSI, and radar altimeter. And it is a good thing there weren't any tram/gondola cables along...
