The immediate thing you will see with a thick oil is a drop in gas mileage. The oil will work, but over time is not optimal for the motor. My personal preference for oil is German Castrol. There are...
Fixed it for you guys ;)
Read this...I certainly hope you decide to use a good filter vs the current version Toyota OEM

If you want to call "fine" staying in cold start enrichment for a very long time while your coolant take forever to get to ops temp (176 deg F). Not using a thermostat on an EFI car (like the Supra) is a very bad idea.
First, to make one thing very clear, FC is based on airflow through the AFM. 12-14 psi is about where it will occur on the stock AFM. A Lex AFM will get you to ~18 psi of boost. The BBC DDP and 57 trim CT26 is going to put you at FC at a lower RPM as you discovered.
Why am I telling you...
Makes a significant difference in coolant temps...about 10 deg C lower with the undertray ;)
Give Jeff at Champion (Jay Marks) Toyota a call...best pricing I've seen on one.
I have conventional full flow and bypass filters on two vehicles running German Castrol...a MotorGuard on my Toyota truck (R22) and a Trasko T3/4-20s on the Supra (dual filter head). The full flow filters are changed at 4k, the MotorGuard (a roll of TP) 1st change at 1k (should last 3k from now...
OEM plugs are not that expensive at Champion Toyota...they are steel with a brass color coating. Locations at rear and both sides of the block for 10 total (7 large, 3 small iirc). Like I said, after my experience with Dorman, there is no way I'll go cheap here again. When one of these blow...
If they are Dorman plugs, they are about 5-7 thou small.
I had two Dorman plugs blow :(
They are a royal PITA to re-install with the motor in the car...I will only use Toyota plugs now.
Some under hood will fit...some will not fit too ;)
I really wouldn't base the decision on how good the plug color "looks".
Personally, I would stick with the year harness in the car.
Couple other things:
For the misfire, check your plug wires and test the coils per the TSRM. Gap at 0.40" is too much for a turbo car...go to 0.30".
For the overheat, Your radiator may be partially clogged and/or the fan clutch is not working properly. Does it overheat in stop/go or...
Ummm...diagnostic codes have a MAJOR impact on how the 7M runs. And, can point you directly at the problem source.
I suggest you pull them...and, check the basics vs "assuming".
