It gets cold in TX, though I see why one would think it stays warmer, being in the southern US.
I think your starting issues are coincidental timing. I have always found that electrical issues are aggravated by
Colder temperatures. I hope you get it fixed. Replacing each cable should be no more...
Yup.
After seeing that vid, i stick with my above suggestions.
You either have bad contact on one of the terminals to the battery, or one of
The cables to the block/starter, or bad cables altogether.
Well, I don't mean just the terminals, I mean the cables themselves as well.
As for testing, I believe it's a voltage drop test that you need to try:

Well, I WOULD have gotten a rush from it, but you called me out on it, and now I feel dead inside.
Actually, I use sarcasm to mask frustration. I wanted to hear that you checked what was asked of you, and that it helped. I get a rush from THAT.
I don't know what you were trying to say here-...
Make sure that both cables are tight where they connect to: The + cable at the starter, and the - cable at the block.
It was already suggested, but you should replace both if they are the originals. They do go bad, and your problem
sounds exactly like an intermittent loss of connection that...
So...
You've checked all those items(none of which were recommended) with no luck,
and not done the only two things which were repeatedly suggested...
...got it.
Welp...keep us posted.
My first thought was blocked cat as well.
My symptoms were sluggish accel, and slow to build boost.
Ultimately, max boost dropped from 10+psi to 7.
Replaced the cat, and almsot crapped myself from the difference.
Well, Here we are.
20th of December, and only 24 hours left till the Mayan ass-kicking happens.
But unfortunately, I didn't come even close to completing my restoration. As it progressed, I got deeper and deeper into each and every detail,
so the pace dropped off, right from the get-go.
I will...
Why?
For the sleeper effect. You wouldn't be shocked to be beaten by a porsche, perhaps.
But a pickup with a ball hitch? It's just not as expected. I get it.
All the same, I'll stick with my Supra.
Is it possible that the rotating assembly busted it loose?
I have the ARZ hardline kit as well, because i really didnt want to rely on a flexible hose submerged under
200 degree oil.
Um, yes. I plan on putting the timing plate on before the head.
I uh, also plan on taking the tranny out before swapping the clutch... :)
As for the bov placement, you are totally correct. The bov is before the maf. In suckthru mode though, you'll have stalling issues when going off-boost...
