No, trust me, that's NOT a good signal to your ignitors. Get 6 new clips form the dealership. 2JZs have a revised clip, they're like $50 for 6 at the dealership. They will make a world of difference. Trust me, I've been through this before. You're getting a weaker spark because of it.

They connect to the 1JZ wiring harness below the intake manifold. there should be a long lead bundled with a 4-pin square connector for the ABS, and a 1 wire spade connector for the starter motor.

What sort of condition are the connectors for your coil packs in? Are ANY of them cracked or broken in ANY way?
