Mine is pretty burned out... Was wondering how long it would be ok to drive it like this, or if it's ok at all! Working on getting a new one...

is that the little cap that goes on the ball at the end of the shifter?

mine didn't have one for the longest time, when i finally took it out to replace the bushings with the green one, that's when i noticed.

shifting will be a little crappy, that's about it

Yeah that's what it is... So nothing will burn up or anything??? I guess that's mainly what I'm worried about... My tranny's on its last legs as it is and I have absolutely no money to screw around with right now...

You can drive without it, but your shifter will be sloppy as hell, and you'll have trouble getting it into gear some times. You will probably put some additional wear on the shifter fork, and the ball on the end of the shifter.

If you want new ones, get a www.marlincrawler.com solid urethane bushing kit. It's like twenty bucks, and makes a HUGE difference. I have one in my Celica, and had another in my Supra before I went with a short throw.

Thanks for the help guys, but I can't seem to find what I need. I can see it in the picture here (top right) but can't find a place to order it... Does it automatically come with the seat? I've already ordered that a couple days ago... Or is it the socket for 6$?

This is what you need (got it from my recent order invoice)

MC-10078 $6
MC-10077 $10

It ran me about $25 shipped to florida for both. on the left hand side of the part numbers, there's a little cart icon (internet explorer)

Hope that helps

I remembered I ordered the wrong ones, but I had put Supra as the vehicle I was going to put them in. They actually called me up, told me what I needed, and changed my order for me. Great customer service.

marlin crawler FTW

I've felt short shifters that where more sloppy. It will firm everything up, and take all the slop out.

Don't run without it, as you'll wear the socket that it goes into, and then no bushing will fix the sloppyness...

forgot to tell you that the seat is a major PITA to install and the cup you have to put a lot of weight on the shifter to push on. The cup won't go into the tranny easy, as it has to go STRAIGHT in, or it won't fit. Don't force it. Remember to grease the seat and cup as well...
