Plus, you should not be using pure water...a 50/50 mix of water to antifreeze is what you want. That mix boils at 225-230 deg F....the system is spec'ed to run at ~10-14 psi, raising the boiling point much more.
Not the same...the auto has different internal gearing to display correct speed for tranny gearing differences. The auto tranny ETC uses the speedo speed sensor to determine shifts.

The Lex/550 combo should be in the same FP range as stock:
Motor off, +B & Fp jumped - 33-40 psi
With the motor running:
Vac off - 33-40 psi
Vac on - 23-30 psi
Even 30 psi is at the high end of this range. Personally, I run mine...
I second that. You do need to check cam/valve timing per my previous posts, but you also need to make damn sure it's not any of the belt driven accessories on the front of the motor. Just drop a belt one at a time and run...no noise, you found it ;)
Doh! Sorry about that, forgot we were dealing with a NA here. The cam gear markings are the same.
It's even easier...the distribututor rotor needs to point at the #1 plug wire.
