WD40 is a mix of mineral spirits, light lubricating oil, and naphtha with carbon dioxide as a propellant. Personally I would not use it on brake pads, but it is light enough to burn off quickly...it's the time before it burns off I have a problem with. There are much better products to prevent...
Changed the coolant filter on my Cressida (5M engine). The filter is a Wix 24069 running Zyrex G-05 coolant. Prior to installing this filter, I flushed the coolant system with oxalic acid, neutralized, and flushed thoroughly with water...I changed the original filter in June 08 after thinking...
I assume you're talking about power enrichment...when the ECU goes into open loop. In addition to RPM (Ne) and throttle position (VTA), the ECU looks at intake air volume (Vs) and coolant temp (THW). That's why it's such a moving target. If you can monitor injector duration, the ECU commands a...
Yep, 10 deg BTDC is correct.
You're welcome...I've found over the years it's usually me that caused the problem. LOL!
Glad you were able to figure it out.
Yes it would. Looking at it from the top, the wire on the right...all 3 are the same color (mine is a light tan). The wire on the left for each are all different colors.
Black smoke on start and while running rough?
Check all your IC piping connectors and all the hoses on the accordion hose. Check the electrical connector to the AFM...take it out and take a look at the contacts.
Pull the EFI fuse for a minute and reinstall to clear any codes before you...
Ok...let's back up. What was done to the motor that required the CPS to be removed and reinstalled?
Take a look at this TSRM page:
http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=EM&P=30
Fourth pic down shows the cam gears and matchmarks. There's 3 holes on each gear...did...
A code 51 will appear if the AC is on, and it does not have to be installed ;)
(i.e. is your AC button pressed on?)
Depressing the gas pedal will cause it too...code 51 is a real time code.
What exactly do you mean by "calibrated"?
Confirm the crank is pointing at "zero" (#1 piston at TDC) and both cam gear index marks are pointing at the rear cover notch. The CPS should be installed as shown with everything else lined up.
The bolt that secures the CPS is not a good indicator. Align the CPS gear with the notch per the TSRM, but keep in mind the gear rotates when pushed into the head. It should look like this when fully seated:
In addition to the crank damper index pointing at zero, both cam gear index...
Ummmm:
JT56 Lightning $1250 + $200 install kit = $1450
BOSS Jr $1000 + $245 install kit = $1245
SP61 $1200 + ??? $ for lines etc.
Granted, the JT56 is a larger turbo, but it does not cost less.
^^^ This is not someone you want to listen to ;)
I still haven't figured out what "my oil pressure gauge isnt going past a 1/4 of the way" means in psi. Especially at idle and 3000 RPM per the TSRM
The only bolt on to the stock manifold that SP sells is the SP61/67 turbo...it's $1200 and does not include a DP iirc.
Sounds like a BOSS Jr will fit your needs...mate that up to a BIC divorced DP and you'll have all the spool you need.
FYI - If you do go with a SP61 or one of the JT...
The ECU reads both knock sensors on the GTE motor...both feed into the same terminal (KNK).
The Tial 44mm WG is hard to beat, but you will have to have a HKS flange to V band adapter fab'ed up.
If no torque spec is listed, use the std value...just ID the bolt and go ;)

Good luck getting a torque wrench on the bolts when you drop the engine in.
I don't know what SP is selling their turbos for now-n-days, but it would be less that what I spent. The Stage 4 BOSS Sr with a GTS housing, but that depends on your power goals.
The Jr is a step above an upgraded CT26.
