As I said sit a gasket on and make sure it doesn't extend under the seal surface.
If it's just inside the cutout it'll be fine.
3 pumps of the pedal hold it on the floor while your helper cracks the bleeder.
KEEP the pedal on the floor tighten the bleeder and repeat....

If you don't have a helper it can be done single handed using a MityVac pump and a 1 man bleed...
That head looks VERY rough for 30ra......
Painting inside a block is a bit of an old school thing believed to aid the Oil drainback... (I don't buy it)

Ummm cos they only have 4 of em ;)
4 x 1000cc = 4000cc total
6 x 1000cc = 6000cc total
add in 12 parts air light it off and 6000cc BOOM is always going to be bigger ;)
To get the same BOOM in a 4cyl you'd need 4 x 1500cc.
Josh: All depends on what they want for the wreck and what it's parts are worth.
If you can't make a good $ on it I wouldn't do it as having a junker on your property is a HUGE PITA.
Better to make a decision in the cold hard light of day after all the emotional stuff has settled!
See it all the time here people screw the pooch then post that they're doing XX or xxx or yy then they wait a week or so and make a rational decision.
