    Yep but an engine is an engine is an engine ;) 3.0L will generate xxx heat at xxx power output. The frontal area of the Mk3 is more of a factor in the cooling than which engine is in there be it 7M or 2J. Claou I think runs the 2J O2W oil cooler setup so that alone would be raising his...

    I had my shop fit the block up and check alignment on the main saddles and it didn't need even a hone let alone a line bore. Mine is a new 93 block though.

    About all you need to do is chase out the holes in the block with an m12x1.25 tap.

    Why? My cooling system works ;) The hottest I've seen was 200f in traffic in summer with the air con on high.

    It all locates on dowel pins so it can't "move" Lay the HG on the head line up the dowel holes grab a sharpie and trace around the holes in the gasket and take a pic. If the errosion ISN'T under the gasket edge it'll seal no probs.
