Pretty sure it covered R&D Dirgle, the car is a loss leader and as such they were never going to break even ever, I "think" they said max of 350 were going to be built but I'm not certain on this at all.

VW Take a 4+ million hit on each one produced so it's a project that more than likely will never happen again, purchase price is a tiny part of owning one I think the ongoing costs would make ownership difficult to justify even for the rich.

The Veyron will do everything well whereas the SSC is more a road registered race car, you can't compare the 2..
Exactly what you don't need/want on a Turbo Engine exhaust due to the massive expansion of the Iron/Steel parts when glowing red, Hi Tensile bolts often fail or pull the threads out of the Aluminium parts where a softer bolt will expand/contract.
