    gasket discussion

ohh, i know there IS a cork gasket for the oil pan, i just was under the impression that it was not stock. i doubt toyota offers one for the supra, which leads me to believe that there never was one. anyone have an EPC to check that? if i remember correctly, Siman used a cork gasket and it...

they came stock with a cork gasket? neither of the three 7m's motor i've taken apart, (including my 30k mile JDM motor) had cork gaskets. it was all FIPG. -shaeff

    gasket discussion

i'm a big fan of gray RTV. i used it on my valve covers with upgraded bolts and it works great. i also use a very thin coat of it on the T-stat housing, tail lights (both sides of the crappy foam gasket) etc... the oil pan doesnt have a gasket, its supposed to be FIPG. -shaeff

new HG's come with a coat already on them... and i suppose if the machine work was lackluster, it would help.

    If no 3000 pipe...

the large end of the 3k pipe is about equal in diameter to the TB. nah, i'd think its the 3k pipe and fender pipe. that fender pipe is funky lookin'. try thinking in these terms instead: you want to fill a beer bottle really fast, with beer of course. now, we all know how small a...

    If no 3000 pipe...

yes it goes from small to big, but think before the 3k pipe. it's big, then bottlenecks to small. thats a restriction. the turbo is trying to push air into a small opening from a big one. when i get hardpipes made, ima get rid of that 3k pipe. -shaeff

    knock sensors

the stock wires aren't very good. MANY supras need the KS rewire. its just what happens to 20 year old wires after being hot and cold cycled over and over again. the stockers cant be THAT bad if they've lasted this long. -shaeff

    Clutch slippage

sorry to say, yes, your master cylander has pooped itself:( generally, leaking fluid is replaced by air, and when you press the clutch pedal, the air compresses, and makes a spongy pedal, and a clutch that doesnt want to disengage. if your clutch is stuck (somehow, for some reason) in a half...
