    Spiking Temp Gauge

i had the exact same problem. the lower bolt on my thermostat housing was broken, leaking air in, super heating the sensor, spiking the gauge, then returning to normal after the air had purged itself. so, basically any air leak into your coolant system can cause this. look for pinholes, look...

Where is all my oil going?

0w is very thin oil. its like water. once a knock problem occurs, it doesnt go away by thickening the oil, it only prolongs the inevitable for a bit. in other words, if you have knock, stop driving the car and fix it before it takes out your bottom end! -shaeff

    Water getting in

i'm going to talk to the local auto glass place in my town, and see what they say. i need a new piece of moulding for there, as mine is super chipped up and stuff. i'll probably end up using some good sealant to help prevent leaks. -shaeff

    87 N/A vs. 89 240SX

if you kept up with a cobra, it wasnt a real cobra. cobras are pushing 400ish HP, and your N/A has less than 200hp by now... it was probably a V6 mustang with cobra insignia with a crappy driver... -shaeff

i've got 6.5" 150w rockford fosgate's custom mounted up front, and pioneer 300w 6x9's in custom boxes mounted in the rear facing forward. sounds really good. really crisp, even when the volume is very high. -shaeff

    no power?

im willing to bet you blew the fusible link in the engine bay fuse box. you cant just pull it out. you need to take apart the fuse box and undo some screws that hold it in. its a common misconception that it just slides in and out, like a spade connector, but it doesnt. -shaeff

    Water getting in

i wouldnt use brake cleaner anywhere that there's paint... you'll dull the finish, and possibly peel the paint, which is why it tells you to keep it off painted surfaces on the back of the can. i would just seal it up correctly, and not do it ghetto like that. do it right the FIRST time...
