trash the crappy 7m lower radiator hose and get an mkii hose for it. it's a much more simple design, less restrictive, more straight, and opens up some space. :) -shaeff

outofstep took apart one of the "cheap" ebay ones. it's identical to the real thing. he just lubed something inside up, and otherwise, it works identically. i'll still buy the real thing though. -shaeff

that "vaccuum pump" is the EGR cooler. that connector looks as if it slid out of the actual plastic connector, ofnarcr4. if you could get a better pic of it, i could tell you for sure. is there a circular rubber boot on the wire behind the metal connector? you should just do this anyway...

and i had to make a whole separate post for this one. i'm going to be nice. knock sensors do NOT pick up rodknock, nor are they supposed to detect rodknock. the knock sensors pick up detonation/pre-ignition, and adjust timing accordingly. they output voltage to the ECU and based on the input...

you grounded the blue wire with the orange tracer? is it grounded well? did you verify the ground after you connected it? as long as that wire is grounded, your starter should work fine, assuming all else is in proper order. check the spade connector on the starter. it's a brown wire. if...

the knock sensor connectors on 7m's are GREEN, and circular. (very much like the blue connector on the t-stat housing, but green, and only one wire. edit: these are knock sensor connectors: -shaeff

or you could just bypass the heater valve al-together and remove it like i did, or you could also zip tie/wrap with a coat hanger it open if you're in a tight spot money/time wise. edit: isnms beat me to posting a pic, and m dialup didn't show it. :p -shaeff

you never really said what the problem is? if you remove the theft deterrant ecu and ground the wire that i mentioned, it's impossible for the stock alarm system to still function. -shaeff
