on the JDM water hardline i am using the side for the heater core that would be used on USDM cars was capped off. i decided to simply drill it out, and use the plug on the other side that my 86.5 waterline had.
if you have access to a lift, dropping the front CM is not that bad at all. however........if you are working in your back yard the only option you will really have is to pull the motor, which really isnt that hard either.

that piece is held on by ONE bolt. you guys have to learn how to work on your own cars.
invest in a set of tools, a floor jack and some jack stands. they will pay for themselves in money saved by not paying some douche...
the around the block water hardline on my 86.5 original NA motor is the exact same thing as my 89 JDM turbo motor.
of all the turbo and non turbo motors i have seen, this piece is the same on all of them.
im not sure that hitting the DP on the ground would have done that however....you may never know! if it did though, i would think that the head would crack.
