Yes the 1jz is fuel is batch. The ignition is sequential. On 1jz Vvti the ignition is batch as well.
So if your running Vvti and want full seq you will need to run 3 wires for injectors and a few for the coils. Could switch to 1/2jz coils or switch to smart coils. Either will require a few...

But in fact megan does have some decent coil overs. Are they kw no but they do hold up and there a lot of people happy with them.
The idle valve will work the way your picture was labeled. 1a/b need to go to one set of coils and 2a/b need to go to another.
Mine on the 1j is setup that way and works. I also have the 12v still hooked up. Most people like to use it without tho I wanted full function and interchangeability...

Sounds like an oil or contamination issue. Unless you just happen to get to bad turbos which I doubt.
Make sure both the feed and drain are in good working order and not kinked.
Also what air filter are you using? And bov?
The sealed box nesseccary? I remove the plastic tray on the right rear and put a 15lb Braille battery with Braille mount. Can't even tell it's there and only had to cut about a 1in off the wood.
Skip the Nat idea and either go full gte or 2jzge.
If you want to run na-t you basically need it set up for gte. If not it's reliability is not going to he long. Even if 2jzge-t the pistons should be gte and tt head gasket. Could get by with just tt head gasket but it's still going to be like...
Ya except the cheap kit is junk. They will prolly fail within a year.
I bought my 89 with a quality retrofit over 6 years ago. Haven't had a single problem. Not even a bulb went out.
