I can name a quite a few members here with boost just under fuel cut, ~11.5ish psi, on a stock HG. Torque the head down (forgot spec) and maintain coolant and you should be good.
Got them in! Its nice having every tool. Just when I think we dont have it, my dad pulls it right from it designated spot. Never used a cam bearing tool before but I had both in within 30 minutes. Clearences are good and the extra was just for bearing crush.
After much thought i have decided...
Just curious what you all think about my old bearing from my rebuild. 90-92' GE block unknown miles no knock. I have used pennzoil 5w-30 synthetic and the huge Wix filters since ive owned it. i autocrossed it a couple times and driven through the twisties for extended high RPM's and load.lots of...
The block and all brackets have had 2 coats of POR15 and look great. I ordered the standard size Clevites and the shop said all they need to do is polish the crank all to the same size. The oil pump drive shaft bearings were pushed out, only took 2-3 hard hits to get them out. Oil clearance is...
Makes you wonder how 7M's were build before guidance from sites like this.
Cork works but many don't torque them correctly. Somewhere on this site is a how-to deck the cover off the block.
Fix your car ! Those extra thing in there are more than a bunch of blinking lights to impress your friends. Don't turn into one of those "The 7M sucks" people because you were being lazy and careless and your motor blew up.
The timing cover needs to be decked with the block. If not the hg will not seal and it will deform the head. From your pictures it doesn't look like it was. You said you used cork and silicone?
Yes. There stock rods so there spraying on the thrust side. Most of the Toyotas I have worked on have a windage tray type design. I don't see why Toyota didn't do somthing similar on 7M's.

Take it to a machine shop so they can measure journals and bores. They will be able to determine if it needs to be reground for undersized bearings. In my case they polished the crank to all the same size. Make sure they can measure 10thousands of an inch (.0001). If they look at you funny go to...
