I thought it only had a few extra fibers. +1 on a cooler and fluid flush if you have not already. You can also back off the gas slightly between shifts to keep it from slipping.
If you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself i would drive to a shop or dealership in town. Pretty sure someone wouldent mind helping you out. Should only take them a second or so to remove it with an impact

For .020 oversized bore, the turbo clearence is exactly at that .010-.011 per inch range.

Did your oil pressure drop after installing the turbo? Did you swap out the ge oil pump? I would say your oil pressure is a little lower than normal. With 0w-30 synthetic i get 20 psi hot idle.
Btw after working at a quick lube place for 2 years its always the idot owners who let there engines...
Drove to every machine shop near by and choose one with the best surface finish, attitude and equipment. Block is getting bore/hone and head is getting decked. Im also going to have them polish my crank. I even gave the guy a copy of the tsrm just in case lol.
