    Boost leaks...

Thanks, I gather that pressurising the crankcase is not going to happen, but if you remove the throttle body and look at the port, it is not exactly a calibrated orifice per se. It's a 1/4 inch hole. The vaccum cap size that covers the port is 9/16. I'm familiar with metered orifices, most pcv...

    Boost leaks...

What could the "stock function" of blowing boost into the accordian pipe possibly be? We're going to cap it off reguardless. It really makes no sense that toyota would have engineered a massive boost leak into our cars, and if they did, why has nobody figured out, until now, that the port on...

    Help Identifying a sound.

That is either the WORST rod knock I have ever heard, or the starter is hitting the ring teeth on the flywheel. Remove the starter, and then start it and see if it helps. (you'll have to push start it, of course ;)) How's your oil pressure?

    batt readings on safcII

The alt is probably fine, Shawndude has had great success running new power and grounds to the headlights to fix a similar problem.

    Boost leaks...

Grim, That's exactly what I did... Well, I used the tester to do it for me;) Have you used the tester you preach about so much? If you have, did you test with the throttle plate open, or closed?

    Boost leaks...

Well, that's what I thought. I'm hoping I'll hear from someone that there is, in fact, a check valve in there... That would explain the fall off of boost past 4500 rpm and the screaming that the turbo makes when boosting... (trust me, I know ct26s, and it IS NOT the death whine. There is no...

    Boost leaks...

So Heidi and I built the $5 boost leak tester (it ended up costing closer to $8 since we used high quality neoprene hose, instead of rubber) and we found a HUGE leak... The throttle body port to the cam covers for the PCV system was leaking so bad we couldn't build any positive pressure. After...

    maftpro is working

Adam I noticed that there is a different GM boost control solenoid for $18 Is there any reason why that one wouldn't work over the $70 for one from FSPS?

Need help, got some real bad news about the Supra today.

Well, the thing is that it hits 18-19 psi by 3K every time, and pulls like a bat out of hell until 4500 or so, and then the gate closes, and it sounds like satan is trying to climb out of the front of the turbo. Boost drops to 10 psi or so, but it still makes 300 hp, and still hauls ass...

    New Climate Control colors.... :)

Justin, For your instrument cluster, did the white face guages provide the vivid colors? Or did you do more custom work? I love the look at night, but I really want to keep black faced guages as I'm almost as anti-bling as Ian.

    Woo Hoo!!!!! BHG for me!!!!

Gixxer, I've ovaled many composite headgaskets, and never seen detonation damage. In order to hurt even stock pistons, you have to basically run 24 psi on pump gas. But to blow the gasket just takes a little bit of D-time to kill it.

    Fresh rebuild won't turn over

Relay or a fried factory theft system. As you can see, the theft computer supplies the starter relay with a ground, if it fusses up, then the relay isn't grounded, and the starter doesn't engage. The thing to do is either manually ground the starter relay, or bypass the theft system altogether.
