I was addressing him but to point out the obvious: To wire it directly the injector would have to be working. That leaves only the TTS or wiring as possible problems. Hardly $$$$.
I dislike getting involved when these engines are modified because people usually introduce all sorts of problems.
As 3p pointed out the engine needs to be in fuel control. A stoich feed gas into an operating catalyst is all that's needed. Although that's basic automotive repair not specific to...
Of course it can be wired directly but why do that when it's so easy to repair? The cold start injection system on these cars is about as simple as it gets.
Tech Article #62 on Autoshop101.com (which explains the evap system well and is reprinted from Toyota factory training materials) as well as every TCCS manual I own state the slight positive tank pressure is there specifically to reduce pump cavitation due to fuel vaporization. The books further...
There's so much fail in this thread I don't know where to start. I will say one thing though: for me it's not about emissions at all.
Lmao. The least you could have done is get that right...
^ This. One other con is I will close my eyes, put my fingertips to my head, and concentrate on wishing your car gets seized for tampering, crushed, and melted down into tuna cans...
Good deal. Keep the engine in fuel control, don't burn oil and don't poison the converter with coolant. Do those things and it should last. In addition keep the EGR in working order so the NOx stays down.
Meh, what are ya gonna do. The topic was more about harnessing than anything else and for that crimping is best. As I said it's not as if this stuff hasn't already been studied in depth. Because, you know, after all this time they're still trying to figure it out while everyone from aerospace...
Lmao. Not that this was ever about you but looking at my history you'll see I almost never post my "credentials". That I did in this case was no different than some others. And while you may not care who's right that doesn't apply to everyone. After all there are likely people here who want to...
Two things come to mind:
1) That you claim all those things are working fine is meaningless.
2) Why would you expect to see power on those ISCV pins? To what are you referencing your measurements?
Those little catalysts may solve the problem but aren't called "one pass cats" for nothing. Because a cat's ability is all about surface area and more area means more wash coat containing the precious metals cats really are a case of getting what you pay for.
