Need a pic of JB 1

That'd be the fuse box under the hood on a pre-89, correct? It should be a black fusible link. I replaced mine with a 100 amp standard enclosed fuse. It bolts in place, so you have to pull that part of the fuse box apart(easy to do, just don't remember how), unbolt the fusible link, and bolt...

    7m-ge wont run

As usual, I'll say check the harness connector first. Make sure it's seated firmly on the tps, that all of the wires are making a good connection, and that all of the insulation on the individual wires is intact. These are the voltage readings you should be looking for, if you prefer to test...

    retorque

Even better is the statement, "...what i didn't do the last time when i retorqued the head bolts was doing it in sequence." And why do people think Barr's leak is a good idea? The best thing it will do is sit at the bottom of the block, wasting whatever money was spent on it. The worst it...

    Codes 31 & 52

That's just because I pay attention to, and learn from, what the Experts post, each in they're own area of expertise. I've learned more technical information here from reading after JJ, IJ, JDub, and others than in my usual day to day. One of the main reasons I'm also an SM Contributor.

    Codes 31 & 52

    * 7M-GTE) Open or short circuit in air flow meter signal. Check the plug, and the wires there. Make sure the wires are seated correctly in the connector, and that all of the connectors are making good contact. Check that there aren't any wires with missing insulation touching each other. If...

Making my own/Re-Wiring my Engine harness.

I've thought about going to UTI, or something similar, to get some book learning that I haven't acquired in my hands on daily mechanic work. Mostly interested in learning electrical systems analysis and diagnostics. Especially with all the electronics in newer vehicles. Welcome aboard, Z...

    Help..

Meh, standards aren't that bad to fix, especially reverse. It's right there on the end, and requires minimal disassembly. A trans. shop will be able to take care of that, no sweat. You could need a new gear, as they don't have a synchro on reverse, iirc. Could be the shift fork is out of...

    widening intake

If I remember correctly, the n/a injectors are around 330(318?)cc, while the turbo injectors are 440cc. The maf mod of loosening the spring, so the door will open sooner. The only thing this does is cause a rich condition. I tested this(3 clicks back), and lost fuel mileage, with the only...

    mouse troubles

Moth balls. One in the engine bay(or under it if your parked in the garage) over night should do it. Rodents HATE the smell, and will leave the area permanently. I occasionally throw them in some cars stored out back for just this reason. No cats, possums, 'coons, mice, rats, etc. Good way...

    custom intake plenums

Check out this thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56094 It's for fuel injection, but the same people(extrudabody) make custom manifold and side draft cab. kits based on your specs. Personally, I'd want the e.f.i. if I could get away with it, as it's tuneability is...

    Smoking

That's a good idea, too. Just make sure you install it(helicoil) correctly, and locktite it. Nothing worse than trying to remove a bolt, and the helicoil tries to come with it.

Retired Green Beret shoots intruder, gets court martial

lol. Figures a .22 would bounce off a knucklehead. Inch in the right direction could have put it through his eye, and the round could've bounced around inside the skull instead. Scrambled brains at best.

Is my Crank Pulley/Harmonic Balancer bad?

Sorry, but you're screwed. Pull the crank, replace it. Even if a machinist could get out the remainder of the bolt, and fix the key way(notch in the crank snout), I'll bet the snout is misshapen from the pulley wobbling on it. The price difference between getting it fixed and buying a...

How bad is the hole? If all the threads are pulled out, you could drill and tap it to the next size up, and use a new bolt.

    Engine Shaking w/ low idle

You don't have to start the car. You can check the codes with the key in the "On" position. The c.e.l. should be on constant with the key on(engine off), no jumper. When you put the jumper in Te1 and E1, the light should start flashing. It will either flash steadily, or a code. If the...

    IGNITION HELP!! QUICK!

You should be able to get the wiring instructions for the box from MSD, and then reverse engineer it. Never assume. There is help for diagnosing the box at msdignition.com's techsupport section. You could just have a bad fuse, or the box isn't getting ground or voltage, etc. Be careful how...

If you hit Rev Limiter, you'll blow your engine...

The rev limiter is there to keep you from accidentally over revving the engine. I wouldn't let the motor bang on it constantly if I wanted to keep it in good running condition, though. I understand you don't care about that particular motor, but wanted to put that in there.

    Not sure where to begin

Nope, you covered it pretty well :) Check out the "Rock" brand gasket kits. I get them at Excel Auto Parts around here. The head gasket is very similar to a Felpro, and most of their kits come with Viton valve seals. All around a good kit for the price, usually runs around $100 or so, where...
