    Chrome wheels

Sand them with 220. They should be very dull, without any shiny spots left. Spray them with a self etching primer. Use a couple of coats, let it dry, then sand it smooth with 400 grit. Then spray on the color of your choice(multiple coats again), sand smooth with 400 or finer, clear(multiple...

    In Need Of Shims !!!

Check with your local machine shop. I'm sure that if they don't have them in stock, they can get what you need.

How Much to do a headgasket job

Depends on your location, and what the hourly shop rate is. Every shop is different. Typically, I could probably do it for $1500 with all new parts(h.g. kit, oil pump seal, w.p., timing belt, hoses, radiator sent out to be checked and cleaned/repaired or replaced as necessary, t.stat., etc.)...

    Partial power

Could be the clutch switch, or the starter went out. Could test the ignition switch as well. None of the dash lights come on with the key in the "on" position?

    Low idle oil pressure?

Read here for oil: Lubricants Running a thinner oil should bring your operating(3k rpm's) down, but it will also drop you idle pressure as well. A cheap(read FRAM) oil filter will cause some odd pressure problems. If you're using one, switch to a Wix, or PureOne. Oil Filters Edit: I see...

    Oil change

I run 6 qts. as well. The filter should hold the extra qt. once the motor is running. On some motors this can be a bad thing, as the crank will hit the oil, and aerate it, or cause tiny air bubbles(you'll see it on the dip stick). This can be kinda hard on the motor, if the oil is getting...

Is my Crank Pulley/Harmonic Balancer bad?

More than likely the crank is damaged as well, so it's not gonna be a one day fix. If the crank needs to be repaired/replaced, the motor has to be pulled, and the bottom end disassembled. You need to get the pulley off and check the crank snout. Make sure it doesn't look even remotely like...

    widening intake

I have the OBX header and custom 2.5" cat back. My car is actually quiet as long as I'm not at wot. Put a 24" glass pack in place of the stock resonator, and a 2 chamber Flow on the end. Sounds good; no raspy, pissed off weed eater type of noise. Nice and deep, with a mellow tone at idle and...

    paper or metal gasket?

Actually, I believe the stock one is metal, with a rubber seal. If you want to be able to remove the t.b.(for changing plugs and wires, servicing, etc.), get a standard paper gasket, and stick it to the t.b. with a thin layer of copper spray. Coat the other side with a THIN layer of anti...

Brian Crower 7M cams and ignition timing issue

Really... I thought I was buying Crower cams. I didn't know it was a different company. I'm feeling a little scammed here.... Guess I should have done a little more research, and have a little more to do. Thanks for the info, George.

Do your pistons have 3 compression rings? Might just be the pics., but it looks like there's three grooves for comp. rings, and one oil ring groove. Curious, as I haven't seen a piston with a ring set-up like that before.

    widening intake

"Gasket matching" (matching the intake/exhaust and head to the gasket size), is an old hot rodder trick, usually good for a little power(I've been told it's around 5 hp over stock, as you are smoothing out the flow of air). Fortunately, Toyota took this into consideration. The stock...

Brian Crower 7M cams and ignition timing issue

BC is Brian Crower Cams. They've been in business for quite a while here in the states. They make more than cams, and they've been in the performance game for a long time. Mostly domestic stuff.

Do you want Energy Suspension Poly Bushings? READ HERE.

I e-mailed Energy with "1987-1992 Toyota Supra Bushings" in the subject line. If they don't read anything else, they'll see that.

Exhaust Gasket To end them all.

I've had exhaust mani. gaskets leak, take them out, bolt the mani. straight to the head(no rtv, gasket, or anything), and fix the leak(Chevy's are good for this). I know a guy that builds high hp(900+ before spray) race motors, and all he uses for header to head sealing is high temp ultra black...

    bleeding the air

lol. I fill mine sitting flat on the ground, and never have a problem. I use a no spill funnel, but even without it, I can completely drain and refill my cooling system, and not have any trapped air.
